I struggle with native Californian Salvia (lots of growth, no blooms) - I wonder if Californian Iris would do better here?

I'm onto my third pink, a hybrid one. If it pegs it that's it. Am keeping it in a pot, so I can keep an eye on it.

My Cali Salvia don't die, they just refuse to bloom!!! I could handle it if they croaked, it's the teasing that bugs the wotsit out of me.
