They don't seem to mind the rain. Taken through the kitchen window this morning.

What a shame Amy, with those birds, especially the magpies, smaller birds seem to stay well clear when they're around. I assume if you have seagulls, you have a similar problem as we have with pigeons ...... muck everywhere!

Yesterday I was watching the young Goldfinches in our garden. Its lovely to think that we have helped them to rear young by feeding them through the cold months. I have taken my feeders away for the time being because I want them to eat the caterpillars, but I think once the wind dies down I might put one back for the adolescents.

Karen, what a good idea. "I like the logic behind that decision".
Amy, Oh heck! Hopefully nowhere near your car(s) if you drive. I parked my car on a neighbours drive for a couple of days, as a favour whilst he was away for a few days. Unfortunately (and unbeknown) to me, it was underneath the pigeons 'favourite' branch on one of his pine trees ...... "windscreen AND bonnet covered in it". <]:-(

The car does get 'bombed ' Alan and me the other day we got out of the car I saw a young grey seagull on the ground but didn't take any notice of it ,the next instant a seagull zoomed in and wacked me over the head I couldn't believe it ...

I know the seagulls like fish & chips at seaside resorts .....
some people are daft enough to feed them. I think St Andrews has a major problem with them. The Council pay someone to come weekly with a bird of prey to help reduce the numbers.
