Thanks Linda and Paul. One of our most colourful wild birds that we have in the UK in the summer, always enjoy watching them.

You could be right Amy, You can almost hear him saying .... "Come on Alan, hurry up, I'm getting soaking wet here!".

They are smashing Alan! Such a clear close up too! We used to feed them Niger seed, but, it was incredibly messy so we let them share the sunflower hearts with the other winged visitors! ☺️

Paul & Kate, thank you. As well as the bird seeds we put out, it is nice to see then feeding on the cornflower seed heads when they become available.

It must be really lovely to sit and watch them, Alan.

Our Goldfinches are black & gold, but only for spring & summer. They're a matted green the rest of the year. I know I have a couple pictures somewhere. They are really cute when they bob up and down as they fly - they love sunflowers.

Kate, it is. Also nice to now that you are providing food, water and a garden for them to enjoy.

Paul, I seem to remember you posted a photo a few years ago.
