Digitalis parviflora 'milk choclate'

that's very interesting...I've been trying to grow them on the edge of the forest but I plant and they disappear... any secret to your success that I might use? lol....

Not much help here Lori as I only planted it this week, but I'm hopeful. Is that digitalis in general or this one in particular? All the other common fox gloves in my garden are in full sun and loving it??? I thought they needed more dappled light..

oh I have tried only the common ones, Marianne. this one is special. very interesting colour. I had a really pretty peachy one three years ago and it actually lived through one winter and set seed in it's second season. It got afternoon light and seemed to be happy where it was but I never got any seedlings from it and it just was not there the next spring... tried planting seeds from the GC along the forest margins but they never came to anything either.
maybe I bought a plant that was genetically modified not to reproduce... I may try the seeds again as I'm thinning my hostas and putting them in the same places that I tried the foxglove. wonder if they would be good companions for the hosta?

I'll send you some seeds from this one if you like. It's a very dainty flower much smaller than the common foxglove, not a a spectacular colour but one to appreciate close up. I'm not sure about the companion bit as my hostas are still in bud but the digitalis have nearly finished flowering..however just the leaves of your hostas would be beautiful with foxgloves, and looking on goy, everybody else's hostas seem to be flowering already

Seeds are always welcome... perhaps I could send you some of my hosta seeds? (Bressingham Blue) (in my pics I have a photo of the babies growing around her skirts!) My hostas are just starting to flower... I bought a "collection" and planted them best I could. I found I'd made some glaring mistakes planting huge ones beside small ones... and yellows beside lime and it's an awful mess....at least to my eye! I have a huge Bressingham blue...and the tiny Blue Boy, and love them to bits... I have others that are white and green, some are green and cream..some are blue and lime... need some organization. The foxglove would be a point of interest. So I think I'll try it. I will plant the foxglove with enough room, as I've been surprised by the size of the 3rd year hosta plants they could be planted three feet away and still look like a group.
