Perennials are dying down now, time to reposition where some of them can have more room to spread next year. The gnarled trunks of the Cercis tree are a favourite.

Looking lovely, Julia. Will you really be able to re-position plants . . . I'm keen to do that but our soil is much too dry and hard?!

Enjoy your holiday Meadow, we turned down 2 offers to go to France this year with the family, so p!eased we did !! took eldest daughter 10 hours by road, and it was so hot, they had to stand in the pool to keep cool......no air con, daughter said it was Ike sleeping in a fan oven!!! at night.......this is the right time to go...... sensible temperatures, should be ideal, look forward to seeing your photos...

Yes, excellent time to go to France. Weβre off to Sanary-sur-Mer at the end of this month (inspired by The Little Paris Bookshop by Nina George!). Have a great time Julia π.

I think you all know that my photos are not very good! However, maybe I could persuade OH to take a few (if the sun is shining, lol).
Thanks Julia and Angela - it will be the first time for us, though we do love Cassis (along the coast a bit) and have done the Pagnol trail around Aubagne π.

Just beautiful! Even with your perennials fading you still have the lovely backdrop of evergreens.
