Clusia rosea - Flowering

They are required in botany collections at Universities because they are primitive plants and I suppose those flowers have some kind of "Students look at this" about them.
In the landscape they just look good.

Yes, and highly ornamental, also. It can grow very large into a very large tree in time. There's one in Balboa Park which is over 20 ft tall now. It's cut back a lot, though.

I want to eventually plant this posted plant where the huge pencil bush is now. I need to cut down the pencil bush first.

It's been really hot and humid here for about three weeks. We did have a few days of nice weather on Monday and Tuesday. Yesterday was hot and today even hotter, probably 100 degrees. Ugh! Yuck!

What I like is the your lows have been near 70f. Thats 21f in C!

Well,I do have some shocking news. AFTER back to back 96f days,the last on Saturday? We had REAL RAIN on Monday,and all I can say to GOY,Andy,and the internet is,I have NEVER seen the bay area go from a hot day- record hot or not, to real rain 48 hours later.
It has not happened in my lifetime over 6 decades now and I bet never as long as records have been kept.
Sizzling hot to rains. That is just not right and for the ages or more to come?

Yes, we've had a lot of lows in the 70's the last three weeks or so. The highs were 90 at the coast to 101ºF inland! Yuck! It was 85ºF (29ºC) at 12:30 am on early Sunday morning. Lots of humidity, also! UGH! It's because the waters off San Diego's coast have been at record high levels for the month of September. A record 78.5ºF (28.5ºC) water temp was recorded the second week in September at Scripp's Pier. The waters are still very warm for this time of year. It's crazy because last year the water temps off San Diego were between 78 - 83ºF for July and August.

I heard that. SF bay set a record too,70f. Not ocean,but still where they measure? Never saw a 70f average before.
You know,I can feel something in the air now. Just looking at some tropicals looking better than ever.
Your papaya looking good too. It's got a big job in surviving winter. I hope it pulls through AND its got both the female and male flowers for fruit. One day!
