Lovely colour, especially the pinkish edging to it. I’ve a Virginia creeper too, it’s on my rockery, climbing up the short fencing. Seems to be taking ages to flourish. Any advice on the care of it, Bathgate?
Thanks :)

Kate: I don't have any advice on caring for THIS. It found me. It's all entwined in my boxwood and very difficult to get rid of.

I think this is Parthenocissus tricuspidata, the Boston Ivy.
The plant is in the same genus as Parthenocissus quiquefolia , which has the common name Virginia creeper.

Thanks Bathgate, I’m thinking you’re not so keen? I’m sure as Eileen said, it’s the same as mine. Yours pretty prolific, mine...poor show.

"I'm not so keen'? I'm not sure how to understand that. What did Eileen say and to whom? lol. This plant is a volunteer and I only noticed it when its leaves

Thanks for the ID Eileen. Now I remember it's the same plant I asked about last year but the leaves are so much bigger now. It's very difficult to eradicate.

Hi Bathgate, probably my wording.
When you said THIS and difficult to get rid of, it just sounded a bit like it wasn’t a favourite plant.
Eileen mentioned it being Boston ivy/Virginia creeper, which is what I have, same as mine.
Hope I have made sense. ☺️
