Thanks, Amy :)
That maybe, but the last week or so I have been trying to "decontaminate" my hibernating bulbs! They have an infestation of Mealy Bug! So I'm stripping of the dry coat & cutting off the top half an inch or so from the necks of the bulbs & then washing them under running water from the tap.
I'm emptying them from their pots & removing all of last year's compost & washing the pots in beach water. Then the bulbs will spend a couple of days outside on the balcony table to dry off before putting them away again for the rest of the winter.
I hope they survive this drastic treatment! It will probably be a few months until I know for sure if it worked or not!
