One of my rosemary shrubs is starting to produce flowers. I noticed this happened last year, slightly earlier in January. Love to see the bluish lilac flowers.

Yes, such a lovely shrub and pretty flowers too. A really cheering sight during this horrible cold, wet, windy spell.

Thanks Thrup. I’ve a few rosemary shrubs in the bund / hill. This is the second year they have started flowering pretty early. Mild season?

Perhaps the Bund Hill has it's own little micro climate too.

You’re both probably right, Thrup and Karen. Definitely good drainage!

Funny how Rosemary and others thrive better in poor soil and sunny places..

3pence it’s their Mediterranean background.......most of the new housing estates around here plant rosemary hedges, they grow so well and smell good too!

What else?
See who else is growing Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary).
See who else has plants in genus Rosmarinus.
