Bathgate said they had had less snow in NY than the people of NCarolina this year! I was wondering how you were getting on...

Over all, it's been a milder Jan and Feb than we are used to experiencing...however; the closer we get to spring the more wintery it has become. March is usually our snowiest month, but the last decade has seen a shift in our seasonal norms... it's much colder right into early May. I think I'll go and read some escapist fiction... reality bites!

You are getting more like Scotland. I find March is when we usually get a bit of snow, and its always bitter cold. Escapist fiction is a great help..and cooking good food, indoor creativity as well. But at least its starting to get a bit lighter now.

HOPE YOU ARE COPING O.K LORI. SNOWSHOES AND SLEDGES COME TO MIND. WHAT DO YOU DO FOR SHOPPING?

I'm always interested to see the similarities between here in Eastern Ontario and the highlands, Karen. we have more trees, I think. I've dreaded this winter from the first snowflake.
oh yes, Lindak. I broke my big toe a month ago so I'm not able to snowshoe. We have to consult the weather network for travel advisories, because we live about 60 kms. from the nearest town and shopping. We have to make that trek about twice a month.

GOODNESS ME LORI, I HOPE YOUR ARE RECOVERING O.K. YOU MUST HAVE TO BE VERY WELL ORGANISED WITH CATERING FOR THINGS, ESPECIALLY FOOD.

I hadn’t realised you are so remote Lori. I hope the toe gets better very soon. X

We live a bit removed... rather than remote, Karen. We've done remote for a decade or so when we lived in Moosonee! the only way in or out of that town was by rail or by plane. never again... but here we can take to the road, if the weather cooperates.
Thanks, Lindak. I'm taking vitamin D3 and bathing it until the nail decides to drop off! sounds awful... but it's been 6 wks... almost over with.
