This is across the street from the previous very tall Butterfly palm I just posted. They typically are a clustering palm. Photo taken in San Diego, CA. on March 3, 2020.

I had one trunking. Repairs on the house..eventually killed it. THAT was close to be a bay area ..well,can't say first. But rare,yes!

I've tried growing this tree in SF Bay Area many times and it always died during winter.

There is guy who has one ...in Fremont of course. Near Mission San Jose too. I have the photo saved from the old Cloudforest cafe website. It's got a foot of trunk maybe. That was from 2007 or so.

That's impressive. Typically, they don't like cooler winters.
