This one does need cutting back so it could be 6 to 8 years as mine was as long as this Iit yook about 6 years withnout pruning Amy the main stem on mine was thick and woody .

Its lovely to have such a display that hides the garage.

Mine is still in tight bud. this is beautiful.

The main stem is very thick and woody 3p ,this is in the sun for most of the day Sbg probably helps in making it flower earlier ...

I meant to say it does nt need cutting back like others so having a woody stem its a good age.

Yes Amy I never cut mine back as it said on the instuctions it did nt need it same as Freckles you can trim it if need be but I would nt cut it right back as I had done to get my fence painted its never come back it dead as a door nail

Thanks Amy and Dawn, I’m pleased for the info too. I’ve planted one in the garden about a year and a half ago. It has buds in ready to pop. I was in a dilemma in regards to managing it.
