thanks Kate. This seems to be the only thing that grows in this area - on the North side, under a rhododendron. They seem to go well together.

Do you have bonsai Sheila? I could never manage to keep one - for very long! The Brooklyn Botanical Garden has an amazing collection which is always a treat to see. Many of them are used in the Holiday model train set they build. Bonsai's are to scale for a model train set and so is the moss to resemble grass. I think I have a blog someplace.

Yes I do Paul, about a dozen in various stages of growth. They are NOTHING like the exhibition ones which are probably over100 years old. I’ll try and take some pics tomorrow.

I just love moss! Moss and lichen... if I had a larger garden, I’d have a woodland/shady corner. It’d have moss, lichen, damp shade loving plants and lots of ferns.
