My variegated Abutilon took a big hit last winter, still hanging on but......not the hardiest of varieties.

I had exactly the same happen to me, Amy! I took a photo of some Dutch Irises sprouting in a pot & when I saw the picture on the computer I also saw the aphids! I hadn't noticed them before! I immediately went out & squashed them all! Now I check them most days & have had to remove a few most days!
I do the same with a bush Fuchsia & a miniature rose!

The camera doesn't lie David it has a much better eye than I have ... I'm glad you zapped your nasty aphids before they did any damage ...

You are quite right, Amy, the camera doesn't lie & on more than one occasion I've seen things in my photos on the computer that I hadn't noticed with my own eyes! Obviously you can blow the photos up to 10x the size of what it took so anything suspicious can be zoomed in on & any necessary actions then taken!

Aphids do adore the Abutilon don't they. I grew this in my first garden and I remember a friend saying "that plant is a garden in one" She was amazed by it. Too cold here, but it is a lovely one to grow. :)
