Evergreen clematis with showy abundance of white flowers, through late spring. Lovely spreader.

Thanks Paul, this one is a nice fairly quick spreader. It’s rambling through the euonymus and on into the laurel and beyond.. This one is real easy to grow and it thrives. It’s on a south west facing fence. I don’t really touch it at all..just let it ramble away. Sometimes I feed it through certain branches of the laurel.
Some clematis are so easy to grow and maintain, others aren’t so easy. I bought a triternata last year, it flourished with flowers. Dies back in autumn and I got zilch this year. I’m fact it seems to have died..no greenery, nothing. So, I think it’s experience and knowledge of them that helps. You’ll always get the popular ones that are common buys that are quite easy to grow. I’m sure there are lots of folk on here that’ll help.

Thanks Kate very helpful. I have several 'plain Jane' bushes I'd love to see a clematis ramble through. I like the one called 'Mrs. Bateman'. Let's see if it likes me.

Thanks Chris :-)
Paul, hopefully Mrs Bateman will be a lucky variety for you and your plain Jane shrubs. Often these are sort of background scenery aren’t they? Then we add the pretty ones or the stand out plants to front stage!

Nice effect. They both work well together. I don't have a clematis. Are they easy to care for?
