HI KAREN, WE HAVE THE FIELDS JUST UP THE ROAD AT THE BACK, TREES AND HAWTHORN HEDGES AND THE SPARROWS LOVE THAT. THEY TWEET AWAY. LOVELY TO HEAR THAT THEY ARE USING ONE OF YOUR NEST BOXES.

WE HAD SLUGS THAT ATE OUR RUNNER BEANS THAT WERE GERMINATING, SO WE HAD TO REPLANTS SOME. WE ALWAYS HAVE TO COVER WHERE THE PEAS ARE WITH A CLOCHE BECAUSE OF THE BIRDS KAREN. I HAVE SEEN THE BLACKBIRDS TAKING SLUGS FROM THE GARDEN TODAY.

Ah..the spugs! Thats what we call them here. Spugs...spuggies and sometimes little spuggers! Lol! They are so noisy! A pair have taken up residence in my new ‘swallow’ nesting box where they are busy raising the next generation of squawkers! They even tried the blue tit box but decided against that.
