Like the red splashes - looks as though a paint brush has flicked over it. Wouldn't know a cactus dahlia, but this is pretty.

Thanks ... I should post a pic of the wine red cactus dahlia that's just started blooming! cactus dahlias have spikey petals...I think someone goofed and put a pom-pom dahlia in my package of cactus dahlia...lol

Yes it was! thislast summer was a major disappointment because my dinnerplate dahlias didn't even start to bud up until late August and we usually have our first frost by the middle of sept...end of story...nothing happened they were killed by frost before they could bloom...booo hooo... It's great to have these picsof the year before... will have to invest in some fresh stock...but I hope the non blooming mauve dp dahlia will bloom for me next year.

I'm hoping for you too!!
