Side yard O' Everything..

Your yard is flourishing in colours Stan looks wonderful . Love that Ponytail I had one in my little bit of front garden but the bustbin men crushed it with the bins.

Getting older means older plants to-lol. That lump between the Cycas and the Ponytail is all Air Plant, Tillandsia bergeri.
Now a 2' sort of hemisphere...roundish facing the sun,flat behind.

Beautiful exotics , Stan! A whole collection of colours, shapes and textures. I can feel the lovely warm sunshine all the way over here!

It's finally her Kate,the real summer warmth of the San Francisco bay area. That means,not hot..none of that blazing heat of inland..just 26C days and our nights a mild 16C. Nothing to need air conditioner. Pleasant I think. Plus usually an afternoon breeze.
If stuck around the house is needed..this is the best time for it.

I know Penny. It's getting to be the standard to say "I've have this plant 20 years". Or 30 or 40+.
It's gotten to where I can no longer pot up all into larger...some are so large now,I could never pick them up anyways to a larger pot. So,I use techniques like a Bonsai master-lol.

Wow Stan thats good going for that amount of years old.
Yes thats the problem when plants get to big as we age we loose our strength I think you would need help with those that have got large. Yes thats a good idea the bonsai master 😄

looking great, Stan! I have a ponytail palm too... only had it for 9 yrs... it's staying small... planted in with some epis and a 7ft. euphorbia. I wrap it in a blanket to transport it to the deck and bring it back in for the winter. It sits on the deck all summer and I try not to move it about any more than I have to.

Lori those too can last forever. I have the green in my front yard and I bought it around the late 80's..kept in a pot until 1993..then planted it. It wont win size awards- they get gigantic in warm tropical climates or at least hot summer climates..but its got a 4' wide base and is about 10' tall. Or a bit more.
THEN-ha,a third one in a pot for many years..8 maybe. I couldn't pass it up at the Supermarket because it had a perfect round onion like base. Still looks like half a basketball. A small underinflated basketball-ha.

I've had to give mine regular haircuts so my cat won't eat the tip ends of the foliage in substitution for grass.(in the winter time,) It's leaves are sharp and for Rufus it must have been like passing razor blades! plant looks a bit odd.. but it's better than taking Rufus to the vet! the base of it is about 8 inches across and has three trunks... the base has bark! will have to post a pic.
