The succulents in the garden seem to be doing well right now. Bursting outwards and spreading well. Grassy green colours, clarets and burgundy tones too.

The chimney pot is attractively planted. Teasing us again with small glimpses of you garden...

Thank you ladies! Very kind comments. Sheila, I couldn’t agree more! 😉
Thanks Julia, I wonder if it’s the real mix of weather?
Anget, thanks, I’m pleased with the chimney pots. Picked them up at garden centre/antiques centre a few years ago.
Honestly, there’s not much too see, it’s how the French would say petit or bijou! 😀

kinda like my garden - - bijou! Sounds good anyway!

Thanks Paul! Just wish it was a little less petit!!

If your gardens are petit (or bijou) I expect it makes you think much harder about how it's laid out and what to put in it. And, no doubt, it's much better for it.

Thanks Anget, it is or has been difficult at times. I would like it slightly bigger to have more options! The problem is if you like something at the GC, you have to pot it up, take something already planted out or talk yourself out of it!

I like the chimney pot and how you have planted it up, plus the tree fern which I keep thinking about buying but not sure where I could put it so that it looks right !

Thanks kindly, Rose! I have 2 tree ferns, I just sort of thought, yes, I’ll pop one in a corner and the other was the first thing I bought for this little bed - which has now been planted up and has this chimney pot placed at one corner.

Kate: What exactly are chimney pots used for? I have a chimney for the carbon monoxide from the furnace and steam from the boiler. It's very 'clean'. What would I use a chimney pot for?

Hi Paul, the chimney pots I have in the garden are Victorian. They are now just decorative, but, were once on the roofs of buildings, on top of the actual chimney to create a taller smokestack. We can pick up such things at reclamation yards and the like over here.

OK thanks Kate. So the 'pot' is open on both ends?

It is indeed. Quite a tall slender pot. Can be very ornate.
