Clematis 'Fond memories '

Last year I moved this clematis to the other side of the fence....in its previous position the initial growth was fine but as the days went on leaves would turn brown.I tried feeding but to no avail .It was cut down quite severely.Today it seems happy,flowering and the leaves look healthy.I think it was rather fickle.....in the same pot is a Thalictrum.

I have it too; in its 4th year and only now flowering with any enthusiasm after I cleared out everything else around it. Much bigger flowers this year too.

I have had the same with others of this type.'Rebecca' and 'Fleuri' are both taking ages to get going.
I bought it from a local GC. They had a table of the shorter ones and I was seduced by the colour combo of this one.
