lol.. I never seem to be able to garner any hazelnuts, either, Thorn! I have black walnuts and they're so messy, but every summer we have an invasion of squirrels from every direction when the walnuts start falling!
Last autumn I bought the small black seeded sunflowers for bird food. I think they're the type planted in fields round about. the blossom never gets very large, but the seeds are very nutritious. reminds me of the movie, Calendar Girls..
