I remember them well Anget. We didn't have a t.v. till I was nine and it was when the first itv came on. We used to go and visit grandma to see her "modern black and white" set. We saw the Coronation on it with all the family sat round.

I think we had our first tv. in the sixties. I watched a programme recently on children's tv. and they had all the old B & W's. on. They looked amazingly stilted and wooden compared with now. How easily pleased we must have been!!

My mother just had a valve radio for a long time and we listened to Billy Cotton's band show, Archie Andrews, how the got away with using a ventriloquists dummy on radio I don't know..Workers playtime, Journey into space and the Archers.

I remember them too Bloomer. Although we didn't have much, we made our own amusement, We didn't have central heating or even a telephone either. If we wanted anything we had to save up our pocket money, that wasn't much either, to get it. Mum used to take jumpers apart and re knit them for us.

Isn't amazing how blue the sky behind appears? just beautiful.

It's been muggy and overcast the last couple of days Lori.
We had a storm one night that lasted over 4 hours and it was in the distance, but most of the lightning was flashing blue light in the sky above the cloud and it wasn't making any noise. The only bright flashes seemed to be now and again and they discharged down to the ground and obviously we got the thunder with it. It was such a vivid storm.
