The flowers are golden-yellow. There’s the common orange-red African Tulip tree.
This tree is grafted, so it doesn’t grow as tall as the orange-red one.

It would, if it grows below the graft. I want to grow one from a cutting. I’ve started many cuttings from my red-orange African Tulip tree.
This variety can grow 30 - 40 ft. tall

Ahrr right . That would be interesting if you could get one to grow from a cutting. I hope you have success with it .
your cuttings sound interesting Andy how long before you would ut take to get flowers from your cuttings of your orange red Africain Tulip tree.

The cuttings typically bloom when very small (within a year). My tree in the ground bloomed when it was only 18” tall. It probably wasn’t even a year old. It’s extremely floriferous! It actually flowered for almost 4 straight years, which I had never seen any African Tulip tree do!

Thats brilliant they flower so young
It must love the conditions the one you have in the ground to flower so long you must be doing some thing right.

It was during the 7 year drought, even though this tree isn’t drought tolerant.
My tree is blooming again even though it’s molting. My tree molts every September. They’re all on different cycles. What’s so strange is that trees can be right next to each other and one can be full of leaves and flowering and the other molting. Very strange!

How strange it must send its roots down and found some water.
Thats great its blooming again I ve had several plants reblooming I put it down to the warm weather we ve had this year.
That os odd being next to each other yet some are molting but others full of leaves do you think it ciukd be one is getting more water than the ine next to it.
