Great colour. I've got e new President too, planted in late Spring. It had 2 flowers this year, so like you I am hoping for a lot more next year.

I have a sad story to relate. I had a new 'President' last year, and it produced one flower. This year, having pruned and fed it, it also producedone flower - but there were lots of buds coming later. Then, it suddenly died on me. Wilt, I suppose! :-(

No! Don't tell me that Spritz. I have already lost another clematis in this area to wilt and am hoping this one will like the conditions more.

I had a clemmie(Warsaw Nike) just stop... it was looking wonderful with lots of buds and suddenly the buds just dried up and it stopped flowering altogether... I thought it was dying but kept watering it anyway...and it came back and started blooming again in October!!! but the flowers were very reduced in size and not as numerous as the first flush of bloom...I haven't had much luck with them the last two seasons...they were stars the years before... sad, aye?
