I bought this shrub last year because of its leaves coloration in fall. It goes not mind partial shade.
In our area it is not deer resistant even if some sites say it is. We live in wooded area full of deer.
I have it in the greenhouse
Native to China & Japan. The species name, cercidifolius, because a shape of its leaves are similar to Cercis, (commonly called redbud.)

I have the Cercis canadensis also called Forest pansy but it doesn't go this lovey red colour in the autumn which is a shame because I love autumn red colours ..
