This generates lots of positive comments from our visitors. It stands about 6 foot tall - way above the other perennials.

It is very hardy and has leaves a little like aquilegia. I don't stake it - relying on support from surrounding perennials - that way it looks more natural.

There are other colours but they tend to be coarser and flower at different times. I think this is by far the best - Thalictrum Hewitt's Double
