Beautiful pic! I love monarch butterflies! I have many in my plants right now. The butterflies are trying to escape the almost 100 degree heat we’ve had here all week.

Thanks Andy. I'm always thrilled to see them. I'm glad to hear they found refuge in your garden. Hope it cools off. Stay safe.

There’s several places along the California coast where they over winter.
It’s finally cooled off to 78 degrees here today. This is after months of extremely hot weather here.
The avocado trees in northern San Diego County (the avocado capital of the US) have taken a major beating. There were 115 - 120 degree temps there in September that burned the trees and young fruit. The cost of avocados will be going up next year for sure.

wow that's hot! I hope your avocado tress aren't too badly damaged. What a treat it must be to see them growing.

The trees will recover, but many of the avocados will drop.
All on the sides of the hills around Fallbrook are hundred of thousands of avocado trees. They’re everywhere. Fallbrook is the avocado capital of the US.
