Species dahlia. This is hardy in warmer parts of the country, coming through four winters here so far

Andrew, That's interesting. My coccineas, grown from PWS seeds are all (variations on) bright oarange/scarlet. Are they variable, do you think? I was wondering..

I think they may be Anget. I also have the wild form, and the flowers are orange/scarlet and much smaller

Anget - I found a video on Youtube which shows the variation in the flowers which can be red, orange, or even yellow. They also vary in size
