Another fortunei Saxifage (Saxifraga fortunei)

I thought this one was called S. f. Rhubarb and Custard, but can find no reference to it. It did have a label when I bought it many years ago. In the shady end of the garage Border.
I did have Mount Nachi and Béni tsukase but have lost them.

I have lost so many of these plants....especially the beautiful dark leafed varieties.......

Maybe this pic is of Blackberry and Apple Pie, but it doesn't look like it, maybe I'm just confused.
I had Mount Navhi for several years, it didn't enlarge much, then I tried to divide it, died. Beni tsukase was a two season wonder. Oh, and Silver Velvet lasted even less time.

They are very challenging......to say the least!

I have a deep pink one in a pot (no good place to put them in the borders). It's lasted 3 years so far - is that good? I had never seen them 'in the flesh' before stumbling across this one at the Picton Garden Nursery. I loved it on sight.

Anget I think the vine weevil are the problem....there are some beautiful varieties about.....

Oh, DD, don't mention the word "weevil" to me. They're through everything. Introduced with the builders' municipal planting, I think. The landscaped shrubberies are riddled with them. It's a hopeless task.

Lovely! They are a fab addition to the garden, I’ve a few on the rockery.

I think Saxifrage short-life is due to lack of care on my part, being swamped by other plants, unless they are a toughie.
