Skimmia 'Kew Green'

There are usually only green buds on this but this year there is a small clump of red buds.
I think it did the same thing last year.

Could the flowers have been pollinated by pollen from different types of Skimmia?

That cant happen as Kew green is a male only flower so there is nothing to pollinate. But a good thought Thorney.
