Today was a very bleak one compared with Christmas day...normally the Wye looks so picturesque from the wooden seat. The flooded areas will take a very long time to subside.

Have to agree, on a lovely day it must be a really nice place to sit and enjoy the views, Julia. We haven’t had any bad weather - fingers crossed! We had high winds overnight on the 26th. So far, it’s been ok. I do feel awful for those who’ve been flooded or have had heavy snowfall. Especially after such a dreadful year.

It doesn't tempt you to sit on the bench today does it? Not the kind of scene that made Wordsworth so enthusiastic about it! I think rivers are in spate in a lot of places - the one in our town certainly is! Stay warm.

It certainly is a bit grim out there at the moment.
