Memories of last summer.

Memories of last summer.

It's such a tonic to look through all the summer garden photos and reflect...I can't wait to see the new growth emerging.... I always get like this during January and February as I'm sure you all do.

I get the same, I was excited earlier when I saw some snowdrops emerging in my front garden :)

Lovely pic, Julia. Your garden always look so pretty, all year round.
Yes, looking forward to spring and the garden waking up ‘of sorts’.

Julia, this is very uplifting to see on a frost covered garden! I am thinking of planting some more evergreen shrubs in the back garden as the perennials and annuals are just becoming too much work these days. Much as I love 'grubbing around' in the garden I just lack the energy some days.

Did you watch a Gardener's World program on Friday night? It was a lovely compilation of highlights from the past year - thoroughly enjoyed watching it with memories of sun filled days!

Julia, I know there is no such thing as a 'No maintenance' garden but as I'm the only gardener, OH mows the lawn now, but that's about all as I'm quite happy to maintain the plants!

He is going to draw up a plan of the garden for me and I hope to begin removing some plants as the weather warms up. I will then be able to see what remains and how many gaps will need filling! Today is actually about 6 degrees, tropical compared to yesterday . . . :o)

Julia, I was a tad ruthless this morning and cleared a small raised bed of unwanted Forget-me-nots. Have posted a blog about it. The bark is a good idea, thank for that!

I am exactly the same Julia! But I also like to change things around too! This year I have grown Ammi Majus without even thinking where they are going to go!
I didn't know Gardeners World was on and maybe able to get it on BBC Iplayer.

Julia, I was beginning to get gardening withdrawal symptoms and so pleased to have a dry, frost free day for a change. No gardening today as the ground is so wet from both overnight, and morning, rain.

Well done for tidying up a little!

Amazing how these plants tumble into our basket and/or trolley whilst we are shopping!
