Beautifully done, a true capture of garden birds in the winter. We have apples lying on the ground just the same.

Thankyou Anget, Bloomer and Wildrose. We leave the apples that aren't o.k. for storing, for the birds. The Blackbirds really go for them. The picture looks at a strange angle as the paper is a bit curled up after water-colouring. I put one coat on after another with colours. I've always been able to draw and just do my own thing. I'm just pleased people like them.

It's very cheerful. I really like how you did the olives. Unusual feature.

Hi Paul Thanks, although they are the very small apples that weren't any good for storing so we left them for the birds.
We used to have an olive tree when we lived down at the Lodge, and kept it inside the greenhouse. When we moved there, there wasn't a greenhouse but just a low brick wall and on the inside a tiled flooring. It was grade 2 so we had to have it built in consideration of how it used to be. It was worth it though and a nice space to grow and keep plants there. I found broken china and pottery in the garden, late eighteenth century, bits of broken blue glass from we think (medicinal bottles), and a couple of buttons and bits of clay pipes.

Sounds like remnants of a past life and apparently very well used. I would love to have a greenhouse for year round fresh tomatoes and herbs. It's a beautiful work of art and I'm sure you'll find a place to display it. Another big winter storm is expected here tonight so I'm off to the market now. Cheers!

A pretty painting of two lovely birds, Linda. Captured the detail so well.

Minus 4 today and a thin layer of snow outside. We managed a walk yesterday as where the sun hit the snow on the pavements and road melted. Going nowhere if this doesn't melt today as it's very icy.
Thanks Kate, this is a gift for someone. We see the Thrush every day. His Mrs. sees all the Blackbirds off.
