Yes they are Kate lets hope the sun shine brings out more.
Yes Lindak they seem to coming out more I noticed to gather in abundance with a bit of nicer weather .
Brilliant Seaburngirl I am sure there is many more of honey bees in your garden filled with pollen sacs . I was worried this one might of got trapped as the flower was starting to close which happened last year but it was in a Tulip.

The temperature was high enough for the honeybees to fly. Usually the bumblebees come out at an earlier time because they can withstand a lower temperature to fly at because they have a furry coat. When I had my two hives of bees I fed them on sugar syrup to get them through the winter, but if the hive felt light in the early spring and it was still very cold I put a sugar bar in there to sustain them.

did you know there is a species of bumble bee called the 'early bumblebee'. Daughter has been identifying the various species we get in the garden. we were up to over 20 species last year.

No I did nt thank you Seaburngirl your daughter is doing well as there are 24 checking it out but we have lost many more because of distroying the habitat so may be your daughter could find one they think is extinct as it can happen.
