Monk Parakeets I think. Nice little addition to local bird watching I bet. As far as I know, they make almost zero bad impact on the ecology.

Dawn, we have these Monk Parrots here too. They are new arrivals from Costa Rica and have adapted to the New York Climate like nobody's business. Noisy & colorful birds but fun to have around.

Those are beautiful parrots! We have lots of parrots (Mitred, red and blue crowned conures and red-crowned Amazons) here in San Diego. People don’t like them because they’re so, so noisy. I love them!

Thank you Stan for the name and information about these Parakeets. Yes I always look up to see whats about bird watching.

Thank you Bathgate how wonderful you have now got them in New York. Yes its nice to have colourful birds to see about what shocked me how they dont get killed by our local birds here as normally its the colour being different why they kill so I was told may be they see them as fresh green leaves 😄

Thank you Anget they are about a mile away from where I live side of the railway used during wwii to move the big guns etc that were made here .
I do get one come on the tree over hanging tge bottom of my garden from the park just over the road as some live there too at the rear of my house is a conservation for birds and wild animals .

Thank you for the nomination Paulinthemix so pleased you like them.😊

Thank you Delonix how wonderful you have such an assortment of colour parrots there I to would live them. These ones were very quiet which I thought unusual I find the Woodpeckers I get at the rear if my house noisy .

I think their main survival tactic is to stay with the flock. That's why other birds leave them alone.
