Clematis 'Yukikomachi' At least that was what it was sold as when I bought this from the supermarket. I had never seen it 'in the flesh'. This is the result, growing on in the g'house. Like a whirligig. About 6 inches. I love it: quite mad! Nothing like the description or colour that it is supposed to be so I think it's an aberration. Maybe it will revert...

Sometime the cold can cause Clematis flowers to be green. I had a Nelly Moser which one cold year had green sepals.

The flower shape is all wrong, Siris. It should be rounded and more blueish, like a normal large-flowered type. I've no idea what's going on here!
Yes, Kate, it should be rounded!
Meadow, who knows what it will do??

Some dont get into the swing of it until later in the season. C seiboldi is one that can be double or single from one year to the next.
I do like this though.

Thanks, Linda. I like it too. Can't be the cold because it's in a heated greenhouse!

It’s a lovely close up, Ange. I’m liking it’s uniqueness. I can only imagine it’s a lovely big bloomer in reality!
