Lilac flowers starting to go over..

It is a shame when the lilac begins to go over. Ours hasn't lasted for very long this year, too much rain perhaps!

I don't know what I think about lilac. I suppose like a lot of shrubs, they're a 'one-hit-wonder' and thereafter rather drab. I'm thinking of cosigning mine to the shredder. OH may not agree!

I think you’re right Sue - most people are probably flattered by people taking interest.
They do go over quick..I’ve the Syringa Josee variety and it’s JUST flowering now..the fragrance is gorgeous on this one, luckily!
Ange, I know what you mean about one hit wonder..there’s a lot of plants that give us a wow for a couple or 3 weeks, then, not much to write home about...

They did, Paul. They are part of a large lilac shrub I took a pic of in this village.

I think the scent is worth it, me and hubby have really enjoyed ours filling the garden :-)
