Shirley the flowers last several days but there are lots of buds so the flowering goes on for about 3 weeks.
After that there are a few flowers on and off during July and August.
I've never collected the seeds Sue, I cut the old flowers off before they set.

I wonder what the second name senilis refers to. I wish I looked as beautiful! 😊

The genus Rebutia was named after Pierre Rebut, a French cactus nurseryman.
Senilis comes from the word 'senile' and it refers to the strands of silvery hairs which are seen all over the cactus.

Found it ! ... Kesselring is after Friedrich Wilhelm Kesselring (1876 - 1966) a German botanist
