Cactus in kitchen window from outside. The "Flowers" are artificial they were on the plant when we bought it. This plant has not flowered in the couple of years since it was bought for our granddaughter.

Yorks, I don't think the artificial flower in any ways stops the plant from getting enough sunshine. It's in a south-west facing window & gets all available sun from about 1pm when the sun comes in through that window. Then it sits there "baking" away till the sun moves around so that it isn't in the window any more. It probably gets 5 or 6 hours at least of sunshine (that is when there is sunshine to be had! 😂) a day, possibly more at this time of the year with the daylight hours being so long.

I thought the flowers were a bit unusual for a cactus! Won't they keep the sun off the top of the plant? Its possible that they are actually preventing the sun getting to the top of the plant and inhibiting from flowering? Just a thought.
