I do love lavender. I’ve several dotted around, Janey. Just evokes that lovely Mediterranean feel..

What a lovely border,Janey,and the scent of Lavender filling the air,for the rest of summer..One of my all time favourite plants...
I bought two new ones this year,so they are just starting to show colour:o)

Janey that's a thing that just doesn't want to grow in my garden. I had two, now there's only one and it hasn't grown at all. Any tips? Maybe my soil's too heavy?

Hi Sandra, yes I really love them.too, and they're so good for us too..:) like you I have some new ones, still in the greenhouse as they were mini plug plants. Mini being the optimum word! They're looking good now and need potting on again..

Hi York's, that's a shame. Yes they do like free draining soil, and to be in the sunniest spot you have. I leave them then, and they do they're own thing, clipping back when.The flowers have faded. You could have a couple in pots with grit or sand mixed in with compost.

That's an idea - but I'm trying to become a bit more labour saving...I could have mixed some sand or grit in the planting hole - we live and learn...

Yes that would have worked. Like you I'm going to have to alter my garden.to be easier for me to manage. All the heavy pots will have to go, lifting any heavy garden stuff is a no no now..:(
