Plumeria ‘Celadine’ Flowering

Plumeria ‘Celadine’ Flowering

My Celandine Plumeria is flowering right now. It’ll probably be dug out of the ground this year. It was never intended to stay here for over 3 years, it’s growing under my giant pink plumeria. Photo taken June 21, 2021.

It looks like it should smell nice too.

Frangipani family, of course it smells nice. I'm a donut!

Lol! Many Plumeria varieties have a very good fragrance. There’s some that don’t have a fragrance, though.

Very attractive flowers, Andy. The pink one you have is just perfect too, really. Do you have a preference?

Samoan Fluff is probably my favorite for fragrance. I have a large one planted in the front yard which has been there for at least 6 or 7 years. It hates the spot (which is too shaded) and I’m digging it out and putting it into a pot very soon. It barely flowers anymore.

Also, Plumeria ‘Singapore’ is up there with Samoan Fluff. My beautiful big Singapore plumeria died 7 years ago during a severe heat wave. Plumeria trees love a lot of heat, but 108 degrees (42.2 degrees c) for 12 hrs, plus reflected heat which made it feel like probably 130 degrees (54.4 degrees c) just completely cooked my tree.

Mine is still in claw leaf and bloom buds (5). But!..I found that the big pot was not filled with soil like I thought. Bromeliads and Kenilworth ivy had covered the top and spilled in a good look- but when I removed them Andy that 15 gallon pot was only over half-3/4 with soil.
Last year I repotted it and I guess when it settled,it settled much more than I knew.
7th of July and no leaves..plus the cool summer here so far. Its healthy and all that..but I think it should be in leaf at least.
This really has been an old fashioned bay area summer..much fog, lower temps, and heatwaves in three days or less- and only two so far the whole spring and summer.
