This Hebe is quite old and has become rather straggly...this year I carefully pruned it,taking out some of the bare stems.Flowering much better this summer.

Julia, I was reading through the RHS magazine 'The Garden' yesterday and there is an article about Hebes under the spotlight in an RHS Plant Trial. I had no idea they have been reclassified into the genus Veronica! Around 120 cultivars of shrubby Veronica will be tested for garden performance at RHS Wisley and RHS Harlow Carr.
Like yourself, I do like a Hebe (or should I say Veronica!).

Julia, on the whole I am happy with the new plants, especially the Weigela and Teucrium, both of which I think you grow. The blue flowers on the Teucrium are gorgeous. The Crab Apple is growing well, so too is the Hebe 'Silver Anniversary' but I have realised now that the Myrtus communis variegata will probably have to be moved as a rather tall perennial (Russian Hibiscus or Chalice plant) has obliterated it from view!
Also, the Loropetalum chinense 'Ruby Snow' is not happy no matter where I move it to It IS alive but not producing any flowers . . . :o(

Abundantly flowering too! I like this colour too, Julia. It really is gorgeous. The flowers certainly make up for any older areas on the stems.
