I've loved these ever since I saw one which must have been at least 8ft tall in Portugal.
Where do you keep it in the winter?

Thank you, I'm pleased to say it has a lot of blooms this year..

The seed was sent to me many years ago after our visit to Ventnor botanica gardens on the Isle of Wight , I asked if they had any Callistemon shrubs for sale after seeing a beautiful one in their garden , the very kind lady said no but if you would like to give me your address I'll send you some seed in the autumn ,I didn't think any more about it until one day an envelope full of seed dropped through my door .
I grew lots of plants and gave them away ..
This one I brought with me from my previous garden, its planted outside in the garden it survives our winters. fingers crossed it will continue to do so ..

Nice memories Janey x

Oh my goodness I had no idea they could survive our winters. Perhaps I should get one??????

Julia don't forget we moved near the coast ,our daughter tells us you don't get the frosts so badly here I expect its something to do with the salt air so please don't take my word for it, you mustn't risk it on my say so x

That was clever to grow it from seed. Glad you were able to bring it with you when you moved..

You have some lovely plants Amy,and we had a visit to Ventnor Botanical Gardens a few years ago too..A wonderful place, isn't it? I don't think one would survive here, which is a shame.. x

We are much nearer the coast here Amy, about 10 miles as the crow flies. Do you have yours in the ground or in a pot? I'd love to try growing one.
