I went to local GC to get some blended manure and I noticed this plant for sale....propagated here on the Island.
It was a surprise because it needs zone 10 conditions. It is definitely not hardy enough to survive here.
We had it growing in one of the past Mexican residences .....blooming.... and I absolutely loved it. I felt a sudden compulsion to have it regardless. It has a maple like red leaves and beautiful red flowers. The foliage is pretty enough to grow it as an annual (it was in an annual plant section) but I will try to overwinter it in some warmer place. So far it is only a stick about 2' tall and no side shoots. Wish me luck.

It's lovely, I hope you can find somewhere suitable to overwinter it.

It has such attractive leaves, Klahanie. Shape and colour…a beautiful burgundy with a rich red underneath. I can see why you love it!
