Julia, I have Acer 'Orange Dream' in a pot and it seems happy, but an Acer labelled as palmatum dissectum, bought from a supermarket in May, looks rather unhappy . . . :o(

I've Orange Dream in the ground, Julia. It's pretty big. I love it, it's a favourite of ours. It's quite established so we don't water every day.

It certainly got well watered last night! Quite frightening to see, and hear, so much torrential rain falling!
