I've waited a while for this to show its true colours. (Three years!) It's proving attractive this month. In a sheltered warm position; with golden foliage, fluffy blue flowers, 2ft high. A useful little shrub. I find it difficult to find mid-height shrubs for the garden but this fits the bill perfectly.

Its a handsome colour, Ange. The little flowers are pretty too, lovely to have in the garden this season!

Meadowland do you have a pic of the green leaved Caryopteris in flower please?

Thanks for all your suggestions.
Sheila, we have a 'Golfball' pittosporum waiting to go out but I shall keep it safe until the spring! I simply can't keep sarcocca going here. Don't know why, I've grown it easily before!

I agree Ange, itโs the perfect height. For a roughly similar mid-height, I was recently recommended Pittosporum (variegated, or dark Tom Thumb) and Sarcococca (lovely scent). I quite fancy the P. Tom Thumb but not sure if itโs hardy.
