The sun was lighting the undersides of the plant. Its well over 6' now and it still has some blooms on it. A surprise.

I do like this..I’d have some plants underplanted beneath too…not to waste any valuable space!!!!😊

Its survived wet winters,30f nights since 2006. It was just a 4" potted plant. I planted it on a raised area,next to the concrete sidewalk,and the Magnolia makes sure there is no extra water..it syphons out plenty. The canopy of the tree also helps keep frost off it.
I have a second one coming along in front of the rental. It has larger leaves and that one is another story..ha.
