I always pass this on my way to and from my parents in North Ayrshire. I’ve just been visiting them for several LOVELY days.
The weather was driech and a grey air hung heavy..
Loudon Hill is volcanic and it’s great for climbing and rock climbing too..although I haven’t tried the latter!

Is this where you come from Kate? My sister lives in Ayreshire but further south than this. Lets hope the hill never decides to become volcanic again! Clibibg it looks like quite a challenge!

Sue, I know what you mean, it's sort of the shape of the hill isn't it.

Yes Sue, I was from Ayrshire. I moved to East Yorkshire in the late 90s. I'm guessing your sisternis living in South Ayrshire maybe? I'm from North Ayrshire. This is in East Ayrshire as I travel to or from my parents.

Thanks Eileen. This isn't the best view of it to be honest. It has a William Wallace memorial next to it.

That is interesting, Hywel! Small world indeed! Do you know which part by any chance?

I believe her grandfather was from New Cumnock if I remember correctly ...
And a few generations back one ancestor was actually from Loudoun.
Her grandmother was from Aberdeen.
