A form of honesty with very dark foliage. Available from a few nurseries or you can raise it from seed

I’ve walked past one or two gardens with a similar plant to this recently and wondered what it was called but the leaves were green on them would this be the same plant? If it is I much prefer this one.

Yes, the green one with mauve flowers has naturalised in the UK. There's also a white-flowered form plus a white one with variegated foliage

Oooh I’ll have to keep my eye out for the variegated one that sounds lovely too, thank you Andrew.

Not easy to find seed of this one. I have seen it in a number of Open Gardens last weekend. It seems much more vigorous than the more familiar varieties and a stunning colour.

Not heard of them ones before thank you Andrew, I shall have a nosey :) other than the obvious sites I’m not too clued up where to get plants from unless you are after houseplants like Streptocarpus and Saintpaulia Dibleys in Wales have some nice variety’s.

Thanks, Andrew, for the tip-off.

Nice one. There is also a variegated with purple flowers, better contrast I think than the variegated with white flowers.
