This has really multiplied in among my daylilies.

I found that this one can be cut and put in water where it will continue to have flowers open. Of course I have it outside.
I don't know about you, but my hippeastrums that are outside have put up flower spikes, so now I have to be on guard against slugs.

That's a good discovery, Wylie! Here in the UK we can't have our Amaryllis outside until well into May & then bring them back in during October. I have some pots of Amaryllis & one has a bud just leaving the neck of the bulb!
Although I don't usually have problems with snails I have seen the result of a night's feeding on my Amaryllis more than once!

Very nice and again, something I would add if I come across them. What better mixed in with Aloes?

My aloes bloom around Christmas time. I have these mixed in with Amaryllis belladonna since the foliage is so similar. They both die back around the same time, so cleaning the garden is easy.

Christmas? See,that's about the same as Los Angeles. Here in San Francisco time, the blooms start in February more or less.

Our temperatures are closer to SF. I went across the island this morning to do some shopping, and it was fog all the way. Some was very thick. It has finally started hitting 65°F.

Hmm,Maybe they do bloom in SF earlier than here in mid eastbay. SF only had one winter's night below 40f. Some parts had no lows below 40f. Hayward had five or six nights below 40f including one 33f.
